SiteGround is a gem in the web hosting market. Its commitment to innovation – especially in shared hosting – has quickly made it one of the top hosting providers in the market in recent years. Despite some minor flaws, SiteGround stands head and shoulders above many of its larger rivals in the most critical features: speed, uptime, and customer support.

SiteGround Web Hosting

Here is an overview of some of the most popular hosting options offered by SiteGround.

SiteGround Shared Hosting (Rating 4.2/5.0)

SiteGround’s shared plans are a bit more expensive than average, but they have the advantage of including many features that others only offer as an option. However, none of SiteGround’s plans include a free domain. You can buy one while you’re signing up, but it’s a bit more expensive than the competition. You’ll get a better rate by signing up elsewhere.

The only significant limitations here are that the StartUp account can only host a single website, and you only get 10 GB web storage.

It starts at $10.49 a month if you commit to 36 months. It includes enough bandwidth to handle about 10,000 visitors per month. SiteGround’s bandwidth allocations are marketed in terms of the number of visitors the plan can accommodate, which helps you make a more informed decision about which plan you need to buy. The plan also includes unlimited email accounts and databases. You can install WordPress and several other applications with a single click, a cPanel-based control panel, and some premium features free basic SSL, Cloudflare CDN backups, and more.

All shared hosting plans include managed WordPress. In addition, SiteGround is one of the best for speed, using SSD, Nginx, SuperCacher, Cloudflare CDN, and HHVM storage.

SiteGround does not offer per-month shared hosting options but has a 30-day trial period. After this expiration date, you can pay for a one, two, or three-year plan, but the price does not decrease depending on the length of the commitment.

SiteGround allows you to choose the data center you want to host your website: USA. (Chicago), Europe (Amsterdam, Milan, Madrid), Asia-Pacific (Singapore), and the UK (London).

Note that SiteGround only offers Linux shared servers.

SiteGround Dedicated Hosting (Rating 4.1/5.0)

For SiteGround’s dedicated servers, packages range from $2.50 per month for an entry-level server to $675 per month for a high-end enterprise server. In addition, you can choose between different CPU, RAM, RAID, and storage configurations. SiteGround starts with Intel Xeon E3 or E5 processors, with a minimum of four CPU cores and eight threads.

Whether you choose the “Entry Server” or “Enterprise Server” plans, you get between 4 and 16 GB of DDR3 RAM and 8 to 15 MB of CPU cache. The disk space varies according to the three plans, from 480 GB SSD to 2×960 GB SSD in RAID1. In addition, all SiteGround dedicated hosting plans have 10T of bandwidth.

Siteground offers a free one-year SSL certificate. As for hardware, SiteGround uses the latest hardware while keeping spare parts on-site for each model. Their dedicated server operations team devotes many resources to the testing and tuning of hardware configurations to optimize server performance. As a result, hardware is upgraded regularly, with seamless transitions and no service interruption. Overall, SiteGround averages 99.999% uptime every month and 99.996% per year.

SiteGround was the first hosting provider to utilize a unique server isolation mechanism to shield servers from the risk of being compromised by a single account. Their downtime prevention software detects and resolves most server issues instantly, while most of their competitors take up to 45 minutes to detect, sort, and respond to security vulnerabilities.

Unfortunately, Siteground only offers Linux-based dedicated servers.

SiteGround Cloud Hosting (Rating 4.5/5.0)

SiteGround has moved from traditional VPS hosting to the cloud, offering an excellent combination of flexibility, scalability, and economic viability. Although cloud servers are, by nature, virtual private servers, a VPS is not inherently a cloud server.

With classic VPS hosting, you get a partition on a server running your operating system and your server software. SiteGround’s cloud hosting takes it to the next level by providing more hardware control, higher availability, and more responsive provisioning.
